WHAT KIND OF EXAM IS YÖS, AND WHAT DOES IT CONTAIN?

The Foreign Student Exam (YÖS), which has helped hundreds of thousands of students receive education in our country since the first day it was implemented, generally contains 80 questions. Of these questions, 35 questions are Mathematics, 5 questions are Geometry and 60 questions are questions measuring IQ-General Ability.

A wide range of questions are asked in mathematics and geometry, and in TYT/AYT exams, they may differ according to the subject distribution. However, it should not be forgotten that since YÖS is specially prepared by each university, there may be differences in the content of the exam.

In the IQ-General Ability test, on the other hand, abstract thinking and numerical comprehension skills are tested. In addition, some universities may also conduct a Turkish Grammar Exam consisting of 50-60 questions to evaluate the Turkish knowledge of the candidates.

Since the exam is administered separately within the universities, it differs in terms of exam duration, and the time given to the students who take the exam generally varies between 90 and 120 minutes.

YÖS BASE POINTS

Certain base scores are taken as a basis when recruiting students with the Foreign Student Exam. Since the exam is prepared separately for each university, YÖS base scores are different from each other. In addition, the distribution of questions and YÖS score values may also change.

HOW ARE YÖS POINTS CALCULATED?

While calculating the Foreign Student Exam scores, many universities make a calculation by subtracting the wrong answers from the correct answers (4 wrong answers take one correct answer, and convert the result to a score out of 100. However, some universities make a calculation based on only the correct answers in YÖS). scores over.
